My graphics are made by
me, either drawn (& I use the word loosely) myself or photos I took myself & then
tweaked into tiles. However, long before I learned how to make graphics on the PC, I
collected them, on my own hard drive, from free clipart & other free graphics sites,
(by free I mean places that were giving their stuff away, no link back, same as I do)
simply because I liked to look at them. Some of these places no longer even exist
online. So although my graphics are generated by me, some may be tweaked
versions of graphics I had previously collected, as these were what I had used when first
learning to make my own.
If any such graphics even
exist on pages, as with my own drawings & photos, these have pretty much been tweaked
beyond recognition of their originals, as when I say "tweaked", I do
mean "tweaked", I do not mean I took a blue graphic,
made it red &/or resized it then called it my own. Thing is, at first I kept all
graphics in the same folder. When I began to make my own, I kept them in that same
folder. (I no longer do this). When I chose to put my own graphics online in a
collection, I have tried very hard to use only the ones I had made from scratch, but
over time, one forgets & I may have made some errors by accident. Even so,
if there are any tiles on this site that may have someone else's graphic as a base for my
own, it came, as I said, from places that claimed to be "use as you will free
sites" like mine. If by some wild chance, I have in fact used someone else's
graphic it was accidental & the owner of the original should feel free to contact me
with some kind of proof of ownership of the original & I will remove it from this
collection (or leave it there but with proper credits given, their choice).
But if you do so, make sure it is indeed your own graphic. I received an email informing
me I had used someone's graphic as the base for one of my tiles & would I please give
them credits for said graphic. I wrote back & told them the graphic in question had
been made by me, using a photo of my dog as the base graphic for the tile. I told
them I had the photo both on my pc & in real life. I also asked them to provide
their graphic they claimed I had used. They never wrote back. What a surprise!
The tile in question is HERE. It is a highly
tweaked photo of my dog on my porch, which has white trim.
The few copyrighted
graphics I have used, I have received written permission to do so. An example of
this is the Amerca Cries eagle graphic on my Memorial page. I wrote to the creators
of that graphic & have their written permission to use it, clearly stated on the page
itself (which is more than I can say for 3/4's of other pages I have found this graphic
on).
Let me be very clear
about this: There is NO intent on my part to claim credit for work that is not my
own!!!
Be assured that if I am informed that I have indeed infringed upon someone else's work, it
is unintentional & I will fix it ASAP & without hesitation, as stated above.
Furthermore, if I myself look at one of my own tiles & suddenly recognize that it is
not my own, I will remove it myself. Yes, my tiles are copyrighted to me, as are the
intellectual properties of this site. The only "meaning" this has for me
is that by virtue of being the "owner" of these things, I have the right to give
them away. You like my tiles?...take them. You have my permission to resize
or recolour them to suit your needs. Should you do so, you do not have to credit me
for the base graphic, but you do not have the rights to call it your own,
unless you have tweaked it so much, it no longer bears any resemblance to the original.
If you want to copy all or part of any of my page's source codes? ...go ahead, you
flatter me by doing so. If you can find, and want to use, any of the few
scripts I have written myself, you are welcome to do so, as long as you do not call them
your own. To use the scripts I have used from "free scripts" places,
please view my source code, where I have left their headers as per their TOS.
This does not include the animated or static gifs, etc, that I have used
to decorate my pages. The clip-art on this site is for my pages' decoration only
& used according to their TOS...& does not come from linkware sites. They
come from a few free clip art sites & I have given credit to
the sites where I got them (even though they do not ask for it). Same for the
javascript...credits for scripts I did not write myself (which is most of them) are left
intact in the source code as per their TOS.
But they are NOT part of my Free Tiles collection.
There is only 1 clip-art graphic (so far) on this site made by me & that is the amber
cat's eyes.
So if you have read this far & want it, then go download it..as it is mine to
distribute. Besides, I have neither the time nor inclination to surf the entire net
in search of my "copyrighted" graphics that someone dared to use without linking
back to me.
Be assured that the very few scripts that are uncredited are my own. I repeat, the TILES
on this site are my own to distribute as I please. I choose to allow free use of
them to anyone who wants them to use in any way they like with one major exception:
You may not use them as your own collections for redistribution (for free or for sale).
No need to put them in a collection, they are already in one, right here.
And if I wanted them to be for sale, which I do not, I would sell them myself.
At Jamba's Free Tiles
is a division of At Jamba's Gris-Gris Gumbo Graphics.
All of the Jamba's Tiles & Gumbo Graphics banners or buttons are made by me mostly
with PSP.
They may be used to LINK TO ME (if desired, but not
required).
~~ JAMBA'S STATEMENT ON COPYRIGHT ~~
Seems almost every site has a comment about
Copyright. This is mine. I will be brief.
Since I first put up this site, I have read a ton of articles on copyright, but none of
them states my personal views on this issue more than what is written about it on Prof.
David Dailey's site. I strongly urge you to go there & read his
copyright section.
So, if you want to know Jamba's take on copyright, please go there as I will not reiterate
what is already so well said.
I could have placed the link directly to his copyright section, but then you might miss
the very unique graphics there as well.
NB ...Downloading of the Tiles from my site is NOT stealing! Why?
Because I own them & I say anyone may freely download them. End of story!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
NB (again) ...The parent site, At
Jamba's Gris-Gris Gumbo Graphics is still UNDER CONSTRUCTION.
It is a seperate site & not yet online. I have started from the bottom up, so to
speak.
I have put a few Gumbo Graphics banners in place on this site but as yet they are not
linked.
They will be linked when that site goes online. I will make an announcement on this site
when that happens.
That site will be a much larger site with background borders, sets, buttons, skins, etc.
So it will likely not be online for a quite awhile (meaning mid to late 2003 ...or later).
Folks, my intentions are good, but my time is almost ridiculously constrained,
particularly lately.
However, my Free Borders site " At Jamba's Free Borders
" has begun.
So far, it has only some Memorial & Holidays left borders, with Mix n Match Bars n
Buttons.
The statement on this page holds for that site as well as this one.
